Let’s do it with different foods and some of the easy remedies!

When it comes to keeping your eyesight sharp, you must be thinking that you need to dive into a sea of complicated diets. But don’t be scared! With a few tasty treats and some amusing tips, you can protect those peepers without breaking a sweat. Let’s explore some foods which will have you seeing the world clearly!

1. Carrots are the classic hero of eye:

You must have heard that carrots are beneficial for your eyes, and you know what? It’s true! Carrots are packed with beta-carotene, these crunchy orange/red delights are like little superheroes for your vision.
In our bodies, beta-carotene converts into vitamin A (retinol). Our bodies need vitamin A for good vision and eye health, for a strong immune system, and for healthy skin and mucous membranes. These can increase the night & peripheral vision and slow down cognitive decline. For now, just absorb this much info to keep your eyes healthy and just munch raw carrots or toss them in salads, make a carrot sweet dish, or whip up a carrot cake—your eyes will thank you!

Interesting Tip: Try saying “I carrot you!” to your friends while munching. It’s a corny joke, but it’ll get a laugh!

 2. Spinach and Leafy Greens are the Powerhouses for eyes:

Spinach, kale, and other leafy greens are full of lutein and zeaxanthin, fancy words for nutrients that help filter out harmful light. These vegetables are full of Vitamin A, and they lower your risk of long-term eye diseases, including Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and cataracts.  Think of them as sunglasses for your eyes. Make smoothies, salads, or even make a green soup that’ll make Popeye proud. Make a soup of spinach and have fun. Lutein and zeaxanthin can be taken at any time of the day. In short6 leafy greens are amazing for vision.

Method: Blend spinach into a smoothie with some bananas or strawberries or kiwis or blueberries and yogurt. You’ll be chugging down health like it’s a milkshake!

3. Omega-3 fish benefits

Salmon, mackerel, and sardines are loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, which are crucial for eye health. They help prevent dry eyes, it is the condition where your eyes cannot produce enough tears, eating fish helps prevent macular degeneration. It reduces the risk of high eye pressure, which can lead to glaucoma. So, next time you have fish for dinner, remember—you’re not just feeding your belly; you’re feeding your vision!

Best option is to steam salmon fish with black pepper and salt with a pinch of garlic powder and have it to get maximum benefit.

Tip: Tell your friends you’re “fishing for compliments” while serving up a delicious salmon dish. It’ll reel them in!

4. Eggs: The Eye-Opening Breakfast

Eggs are like nature’s multivitamin. They contain vitamins A, C, and E, all essential for eye health. Start your day sunny-side up or whip them into an omelet. Eggs are rich in lutein, zeaxanthin, and vitamin A. Consuming eggs can help fight sight loss conditions such as retinitis pigmentosa and macular degeneration, helps in dry eye syndrome. Eggs are an excellent choice which helps in preventing blindness. Eggs are versatile, and you can’t “egg-nore” the benefits! You can eat maximum 2 eggs in a day.

Method: Try a “breakfast for dinner” night. Who says you can’t enjoy eggs at any hour? I can eat eggs any time of the day. Have you heard about Anda Ghotala? Do let me know in comments if you need the recipe of delicious egg, it will be emailed to you!

5. Nuts and Seeds are healthy snacks for vision

Almonds, peanuts, pistachios, and cashews are some of the amazing nuts that are good for the eyes. Nuts are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E, and now we know that omega 3 fatty acids and vitamin E boost our eye health. One of its amazing benefits is they protect the eye's cells from “free radicals” that could break down the eye's tissue. Almonds, walnuts, and chia seeds are not just snacks; they are loaded with something special that helps protect your eyes from damage. Just a handful a day can go a long way.

Tip: Keep a jar of mixed nuts on your desk. Every time you snack, make a cheesy “nutty” pun—your coworkers will roll their eyes (but you’ll be seeing clearly!). If you want to be more creative and have an empty glass bottle, you can make a DIY jar to keep these nuts. To check out how to make this office friendly jar click on

6. Berries: Nature’s Sweet Treats

Blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries are just not only delightful, but they are also full of antioxidants. Add berries in your diet. It is not only tasty addition to your life, but it gives several benefits to your eye health.  Berries are high in vitamin C which helps the body form and maintain connective tissue, including collagen found in the cornea of the eye. And yes, they are also helpful in preventing cataract. Vitamin C also supports the health of blood vessels in the eye. Since they have very high antioxidant content therefore, they are helpful in slowing down sight loss conditions like retinitis pigmentosa and macular degeneration. They help combat oxidative stress in the eyes.
Make berries an important part of your diet for sight loss prevention.

Let’s discuss some ways to snack on them. Have them fresh, toss them in yogurt, or blend them into a smoothie. Blueberries are the stars of the show, but raspberries, blackberries, strawberries and citrus fruit are all excellent snacking options for eye health.
